Just recently, I visited a friend’s home and as soon as I walked in the door, I fell in love. Her decor was not my style, her colors were bold and stark, when I typically prefer soft and airy, but her space felt inviting and calm, and I instantly felt at home.

I couldn’t put my finger on what it was that was so appealing and so fresh, until I finally realized….she had the most beautiful house plants sprinkled throughout her home. Some in gorgeous ceramic planters, some tucked into shelves, one atop a side table, and another one bringing life to a corner of her home I probably would have neglected.

I love the look of plants in a space but I am busy and juggling a million different things, that the couple times I have brought a plant home, it met a quick and unfortunate death. So before I went and dropped my paycheck at our local Garden Center, I decided to do some research first.

And after reading several articles and blog posts, I happened across a post from the queen of style and timeless farmhouse design, Joanna Gaines. Click HERE to read Joanna’s picks for gorgeous house plants that add beauty and life to any space!

I enjoyed the business and I obtained a real estate license in 2002 to help others buy and sell homes on a part time basis. My part time efforts quickly grew into a full time real estate consulting business. Lisa Duke Realty, LLC opened in 2012 and in the first two years, our experience and staff have grown and flourished.
